This is my first completed block....of NPNT....only 62 to go.....I have decided I will complete each block as I go, there is quite a bit of work in putting them together, and it is even better if you read the instructions....is there any one else out there who skims through patterns???
Another beautiful day today...I am so excited my number two son is coming home for a visit...he arrives tonight.......
Peg, it looks great! Yup, I skimmed through the patterns :o)
ReplyDeleteWow-wee Peg, nice job on the NPNT block. I read instructions several times over...quickest look first, then a quicker look and then a quick look and then it slows down from there LOL :^)
ReplyDeleteHey Peg! Hmmm, have to confess I'm an instruction skimmer - and then have to go back later when I can't work something out!! The funniest part is that I start the instructions for all of my patterns by saying "Read all instructions carefully before beginning ..." ! Tee! Hee! Hee! You'd think I'd follow my own advice!! Your blocks are coming up beautifully! I love the fabrics you're using for your borders - funky and fun! Will look forward to seeing 62 more! :0) Bear Hugs! KRIS (Tag Along Teddies)
ReplyDeletePeg, that looks so fantastic!! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteI tend to skim instructions when I first read through but have learned (the hard way) to pay attention before I start with cutting or anything along those lines. :-)
That is a lovely block, Peg. I'm like you...a skimmer. Mind you, it isn't restricted just to quilting patterns...I do it with all instructions. Sometimes with interesting results! lol
ReplyDeleteyou are working on so many projects at the same time like me...lol and it's so exciting to see what would come in the next time
ReplyDeleteHi Peg! Thanks a lot for visitin my blog. The armchair caddy was some difficult for me,specially the border, but I think the result is good. Do you know I'll get married next week? I'm very nervous!!! jajajajajajajaja, kisses
ReplyDeleteOh Peg, I love the fabrics and coloured threads you've used. Just beautiful and all your stitching looks great too. You have been a busy girl.
ReplyDeletePeg they look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI do both...skim first...then read more thoroughly...then tell Jo! ....lol... We work well together!
I know just how excited you tonight...I get like that when my kids come home. Have a lovely, special visit!
Take care
Vanessa
I skim thru patterns all the time. I hate reading patterns. If there is a picture I try to figure it out from the pic.
ReplyDeleteI always skim patterns, often resulting in errors. Especially when one pattern has pieces require cutting on the line AND some require a seam allowance in addition to the line.... lol this has had me kicking myself alot!
ReplyDeleteYour stitching is looking beautiful. love the colours in both threads and fabrics.

They're looking good!
ReplyDeleteLooking good. You are making me want to make this quilt. Enjoy your time with your son.
ReplyDeleteYour stitchery is stunning, and the quilt is going to be beautiful. Yes I skim through patterns and then when when I can't figure it out, it's time to read it better.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my post in NPNT site. Your block looks great and I am glad to see how you are going ahead and finishing each block. I had considered doing that, but have not taken the time to read through the directions yet. I don't quite understand how it is going to work.
ReplyDeleteI have subscribed to your site as I so enjoyed looking at all your projects in past posts.
Take care!
Well sometimes I just skim through them! Only 62 to go, yes keep on...
ReplyDeleteThe blocks look wonderful, 62 more to go... OMG!?
ReplyDeleteAs I almost always have to work with English patterns I have to read through them first. Getting better in understanding all the quilting and stitching jargon I skim through them more and more...
Peg, The blocks are looking fantastic! Have a great time with your son. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all your beautiful stitchery. The quilt will be gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteThe blocks look great for NPNT! I love the verse all finished. And the balloons are adorable.
ReplyDeleteWow, you picked gorgeous fabrics and floss colors.
ReplyDeleteI'm a hopeless skimmer. Usually I find the correct directions after I goof something up.
I'm about ready to start working on mine, too. It's been difficult to settle on colors, etc. :-) Yours are looking terrific.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your choice of fabrics. This will be a gorgeous quilt!
