I'm back.......

I feel like I have been on a merry-go-round....the flu is still with me, the new computer system has been installed at work, two weeks, 11 hour days with the flu, so tomorrow will be a big test, did I take any of the training in....oh well....the head is clearer today which is a plus...the boys loved the 'Chocolate Chip Cookies' I made for them last week so this week I have made them another old favourite...'Anzac Biscuits' I had forgotten how easy these are to make....below is the recipe....I have not had a needle in my hand for over a week, so this afternoon, lookout......thanks for the emails sent wondering where I have been, that is just so thoughtful........my blog reading has been disastrous so there will be a lot of catching up I think....hope none of you get this nasty flu.....happy stitching....
Anzac Biscuits
1 cup of rolled oats
1 cup of plain flour
1 cup of sugar
3/4 cup coconut
125g or 4 oz of butter
2 tablespoons of golden syrup
1/2 teaspoon of bi-carb soda
2 tablespoons boiling water
Combine oats, sifted flour, sugar and coconut. Combine butter and golden syrup, stir over gentle heat until melted. Mix bi-card soda with boiling water, add to melted butter mixture, stir into dry ingredients. Take teaspoonfuls of mixture and place on lightly greased oven trays, allow room for spreading. Cook in a slow oven for 20 minutes, loosen while warm, then cool ion trays.
Enjoy......

Sunday............

This weekend quite a few of our Club Quilt ladies headed off on our annual retreat to Ridgecrest, and I was unable to go, (that thing 'work' kept me away) I was disappointed, but...... I still did the usual organising for the girls, and countdown of sleeps ( I did miss one or two days I think)....on Friday looked what was delivered to me at work this beautiful flower arrangement, with a card attached saying "we will miss you", sent to me by the Ridgecrestian girls, now how nice is that ......and then on Saturday they rang me saying....this one is for your Peg........ they were playing one of my favourite songs......you know I really am so very blessed, I have so many special people in my life.....thankyou so very much I love the lot of you......
I have been going to make some biscuits for the boys at work for so long now, so yesterday I decided I would make a couple of batches of a good old favourite "Chocolate Chip Cookies"....I haven't made these since my boys were at school, a long time ago......I hope you all have a great week....

Table topper swap gift..

In the previous post I showed you what I had received in the table runner swap from Tereasa and this is the table topper I made for Jenny......this pattern is from a gorgeous book called "From The Heart" by Natalie Bird.....and boy was this one a challenge, I have never done anything round before, nor had I done a scalloped border or made a bias binding, but anyway I had a bash....I did learn a few things, which was great, but most of all I loved making and I this really enjoyed the challenge and Jenny loved it....head still fuzzy, thanks to everyone for all their lovely messages....you are all just so thoughtful...

Shaggy quilts....

These are my first shaggy quilts.....made a few years back, these squares were cut quite big, about 8 inches I think, I have used some old buttons to decorate, which my DH picked up from a Op Shop...I also used a decorative stitch in a variegated thread.......I do like making these quilts....
We are installing a new software program at the Dealership, so it has been a very hectic week r should I say weeks, lots of work done before this could happen, tonight we go live with the new system, I have no idea what time I will get home tonight......?????
have a great day......

Blast from the past...

Magic Hexagons......After doing this quilt at Cottage on the Hill a few years ago we had a day at our group Club Quilt, also a few years back........ the hexagon is made by using a template, so very easy and quick....I have done each hexagon from a different fabric not repeating any and it was made from scraps.....lots of fun....have a great day...
