This is another quilt top I made on the retreat......Fabric is Moda....'Sanctuary'....I have quite a few of these charm packs lying around, so I thought I will make them up as they are a nice quick present to give away.....
OK....EQ6....looking at purchasing this piece of software..I am hoping I can get a bit of feedback about the program...if anyone is using it please could you let me know what you think of it???

I got EQ6 last Christmas and absolutely love it. I had version 5 and 6 has many of the features that I was looking for when I was using 5. I use it whenever I have an idea for a quilt and often draw things up just to play with colors and see what they will look like. I would highly recommend it.
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely charm quilt Peg, sorry never heard of EQ6 but Tami seems to like it. Hope you get some more feedback about it.
ReplyDeleteCan't help with EQ6, sorry. A quick question if you have time. That little strip of color by the border, I think I've seen that on your quilts before. Can't remember what it's called. I would love to try that...is there a book that talks about how to do it that you would recommend? I just think it adds so much pizazz to the quilt.
ReplyDeleteNo EQ6, I've thought about it but just haven't done anything yet. Still doing okay working things out in my head or drawing it out on paper *s*
ReplyDeleteI have EQ5 and never used it because I found it too cumbersome to learn and really get any use out of it.
ReplyDeleteCharm packs are so much fun, have you seen the split nine patch tutorial on my blog, you might like it.
I love these fabrics! I am doing a mini quilt swap and those fabrics would be perfect for what I have in mind!

The quilt is really nice. What a great quick way to use the charm squares! I have EQ6 but haven't used it yet, so I am of no help. Sorry!
ReplyDeleteI like those fabrics. I have never used EQ6.
ReplyDeleteFirst your quilt is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteSecond I love my EQ6 it is a bit to learn like any software but once you do it is wonderful!
Beautiful quilt. Gee you had a productive weekend. The one in the last post is gorgeous too. Not used EQ 6 or any other quilting software. Interesting to read what people are saying about it. I buy Down Under Quilts magazine sometimes and they have an article each issue related to EQ.
ReplyDeleteI had EQ5 and then upgraded to EQ6 .... it is fun to use and you don't even have to go through the whole instruction book before you will start designing your own quilts. EQ6 has improved functions and am enjoying it even more. I find that I'm designing more and more quilts and making them up and am not renewing my quilt subscriptions. As well as EQ6, I've bought the Block Base and two applique software programs from Electric Quilt to go along with the program. Just think, you could host a party weekend and all your ladies could join in and everyone could make their own designs and then have another party later on to show the results.
ReplyDeleteHello! First I agree, beautiful quilt! I too just bought EQ6 and I am totally amazed by how user friendly it is! There is a wonderfully simple book that comes with it and I went through at least 3 out of the 6 lessons in about half an hour! And I have already desined one quilt! I am in the process of finding where to buy the stash discs so I can use up to date fabrics. I so far highly recomend it and am looking forward to learning to use the rest! Hope I helped in your decision!
