Another project started .....

I just can't help myself....yes I have started yet another project...my friend Day-day and I decided to start on these lovely stitcheries "Vintage Garden" Cinderberry Stitches....it was actually all because of what Pat recently completed.... if you go.... here .... you will see why we had to start, this quilt is absolutly stunning.... So much has been happening...thank you so much to everyone who has signed up for my challenge...my theory is anything that we complete must be a bonus.....so if you are interested at all please drop me an email and I will add you to our little group of challengers.....

Time for thank yous.....look what I received from Cathi.....I have been watching her blog for a while Cathi hand pieces all her quilts...wow....anyway she sent me this kit which has all the gear for me to do some hexagons by hand....these have been done using Inklingo...in my kit I have heirloom thread, lovely range of fabrics already to go, all I need to do is cut them out.....a beautiful handmade needle case which is filled with several different types of needles...Cathi thank you so very very much this was truly so thoughtful of you....pop over and have a look at the quilt she is working on at the moment....here....just stunning...

A Challenge

A Challenge..............I have given myself a challenge...to complete 5 quilt tops (or does one call them flimsies) into completed quilts by the end of July.....I would like to put out a challenge to other quilters who may be like me and have the odd one or two flimsies lying around.....if you would like to participate in my challenge I will add you name to a link on my side bar...so we can all watch your progress...and be inspired....I would like to encourage you to do postings about your progress, you can forward photos to me and I will also post these on my blog......if there is a story as to why this has not been completed, lets compare stories........I will have a prize at the end of the challenge, it may go to the person who has done the most....or it may be a lucky draw...(with the bingo machine).....there could be a couple of prizes, still working on that one......

I hope you will join me in this challenge...even if you only finish one....that means another one bites the dust..........

the Challenge will finish midnight the 31 July 2008....so that is about 6 weeks give or take.....

Oh Dear............

I have just completed my third BOM - Lynette Anderson's Noah's Ark.....and look what I have done....I have used a different background fabric for the first block, they are both mottled but the first lot is slightly lighter.... the photo looks worse that what it is.....will have to find some of the original background that I used and do alternate blocks....or I will have to redo it, maybe I will just do that.....oh dear.......what a bummer......

Set some goals.....

I have set my self a challenge..........these five quilt tops need to be completed.......so I am hoping to have them all finished by the end of July......yes this year 2008.....I need to get a bit of backing for a couple of them.....I have the wadding.....the only thing I am a little short of is TIME.....

Great idea....

Fiona (Dragonfly) has made these fantastic handbag organizers but I thought they were a great idea to put your sewing bits and pieces in......folds up very neat and it can be taken anywhere.....just love it Fee.

Next step.....

Here is my shaggy quilt from yesterdays sewing at Club Quilt........all sewn together now I need to do a bit of clipping....and then the border, bind and finished.........I would love to hear how many other people have made shaggy quilts and how they have finished them off????

Great day at Club Quilt..........

I was running a little behind on my BOM.....Capricorn Quilts, finished this off the other night.....lovely day again in down town Narromine...Club Quilt day had as always we had a most enjoyavle day, great company, yummy food....and yes a little bit of sewing... it was a swap day for our Round Robin quilts and wow...wow...wow...you should see what these ladies are doing in these swaps, we all have a little peak, not of our own though....the workmanship is "blow you mind" stuff....I really must congratulate everyone who is participating in this swap, truly you are all so amazing, I do hope you are all so proud of what you are producing....

Sewing tomorrow.............

Tomorrow is "Club Quilt" day....and my project is going to be a shaggy quilt with border....the fabric is 'Barefoot Roses'......144 squares of 5 inch fabric....144 squares of 4 inch wadding....144 squares if 5 inch backing....and hopefully I will get this all together this afternoon so I can just sit and sew tomorrow....hope everyone is having a fantastic day, this weekend is a long weekend, so three days off....I am excited.......

Another one bites the dust, finished this off last night I do have a home for this one I am going to give this to my Auntie Shirley this has been made out of Moda...Wildrose...

Completed....

I must admit it is a fantastic feeling when you have totally finished a quilt...and I have just done that with this one.....when I first started to quilt, I really only liked the piecing part, but now I just enjoy every part of the process, deciding on the fabric, place what fabric with what fabric??, then watching it change when you stitch it together, preparing it to quilt and then see it come alive once it is quilted....adding the bind, what a difference that can make and...presto....finished..... take care.....Peg ... :>)

This was one of the treats that I purchased at "Girls Day In The Country" At Nundle, yes purchased this one from Cottage on the Hill......Janelle Wind (who was also there for the weekend) Sweet Janice....these are all flannels...........oh why oh why do I have to work...if only I could sew all day.....oh me of my......take care ...
