ReplyDeletereally old but really sweet - there is a charm about the country style quilts - they are very livable and age well.... the quilting will finish it off beautifully.

It's a lovely country style Peg. I think it looks great and will be fab when you work your quilting magic too.
ReplyDeletehi my lovely friend ,i think this is really cute Peg,it might grow on you,but i think it will be an awesome finish for you,you should be proud of yourself Peg on all your beautiful finishes xx
ReplyDeleteThats a huge achievement and really its not that awful - maybe not your taste now but still nice....Im sure you wil find a god home for it...
ReplyDeleteHey Sweet Peg! I know JUST how you feel about your poor unfinished baby! :0) I started dabbling in applique and quilting when we still lived in Bourke and there were very few fabric options out there. My first few quilts were calico and country checks and tartans ... one partially quilted project discovered in the back of a cupboard when we moved a couple of years ago. I figure ONE DAY I'll get around to finishing it and use it as a picnic rug, since I won't be worrying about ruining good fabrics. :0) Look forward to seeing your 'ugly duckling' turn into a swan, cos all your projects do! :0) Bear Hugs! KRIS xx
ReplyDeleteI love that quilt!!!!! I used to use calico for all my stitcheries. I really like the country look and see nothing wrong with your chosen fabrics. It will be awesome when quilted.
ReplyDeleteIt will be lovely quilted and so worth finishing. I love our old quilts, they remind us of our quilting journey xx
ReplyDeleteI think it is going to look great when quilted, I really like the look of it !!!
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased that you are going to finish off this one. Our tastes may have changed and fabric options become much greater, but it is still part of your quilting journey. Am I right in guessing that you did all that applique by hand? And I'm guessing your boys were keeping you busy back then too? Definitely worth finishing.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you wouldn't choose it today, but the girls are right, it's all part of your quilting journey. Someone somewhere needs a warm quilt and this one could be just right. Good on you for getting through all your ufos.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I'm sure it will improve after quilting and you will hopefully like it or find a home where it will be loved. Amazing how our tastes change over the years.
ReplyDeletewow, I love everything about this. :) The colors are great! The pattern is too.
