I have been having a bit of a clean up, and look what I found tucked away in a cupboard…..this is a wool long stitch that I did probably 13 years ago….all I have to do is frame it…..does any one have any suggestions on the best way of doing this, would appreciate any help, thanks a lot…
Happy Monday…
Take Care Peg….
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent.
Hi Peg. I'd check out Spotlight or somewhere like that. They used to have frames that went with those long stitch kits. I think you can still buy those kind of kits. It looks lovely. Hugs, Christine
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find! You can do it yourself if you google it you should be able to find a tutorial on how to lace it up make sure you use acid free board. I have done it and it is much cheaper than paying someone to do it. Or you could make it into a cushion:O) Hope this helps. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteQue maravilla de trabajo!!! Es una preciosidad.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to find such a treasure hiding in your cupboards... good luck with the framing....

What a great find! Just lace it across the backing board that is covered with batting. I think its screaming for a shabby look frame!
ReplyDeleteOh Peg that is beautiful - no clue how you'd frame it, but I can't wait to see it done!
ReplyDeletelove it Peg I have done a couple of long stitching........I have framed a couple of cross stitches.......make sure you lace it well..........I usually put some padding under the work........
ReplyDeleteHello Peg,
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute..
How about trying a bit of folk art..Go to Bunnings and find a piece of wood you think would make a great frame..Cut it to size and then when put together, you could use a crackle medium to give the frame a shabby look or vintage..There's many choices..
Good luck and am now hanging to see what you do with it..
Hugs Michelle
Such a beautiful long-stitch treasure!
ReplyDeleteI think that a cushion would be great, or you can make a bag like those cute girls do: http://dutchsister-s.blogspot.com/
