Another finish for the  Heart Early Bird Challenge….hosted by Judith…….this is a cover for  a 12 1/2 inch ruler…..

The weekend is over …back to work….I think we need a 3 day weekend…..

Early Bird Heart Challenge…

The lovely Judith - Early Bird Challenge……… her challenge for this month was to make something using hearts….so this is one of my items…..a simple little dilly bag with a heart stitchery….

Club Quilt today…….lots of show and tell….I have taken plenty of photos of what the girls have been making……todays slice was “Coffee Caramel Chocolate Slice”…

1 vanilla cake mix, 1 cup of coconut, 140g melted butter, mix together and press into a slice tin, cook in a moderate oven for 15 mins…In a saucepan mix 2 tablespoons of golden syrup, 30g butter, 2 teaspoons of coffee which has been blended with 2 teaspoons boiling water and 1 tin of condensed milt,  stir over heat for 5 minutes….remove the base from oven and spread with caramel mixture return to the oven for 15 – 20 mins….take out cool, over boiling water melt 1 large Cadbury chocolate…spread over slice….yummy…….

It’s another Early Bird…..

All finished….another Christmas Early Bird gift…

Very quick post this morning we are (that is DH, number three son and his girlfriend and I) are heading off to see number two son and his girlfriend who live on the Central Coast….Number two and three son are the twins and they are having a birthday very soon so we thought we would all celebrate a bit early…..very excited about spending time with my beautiful babies….(LOL who are going to be 26)..

Another completed Early Bird Christmas project….…. I did this stitchery last year, it was from Among the Gum Trees and for some reason I never finished it, but now I  have a wall hanging…….I used my pounce pad to add the decorative bits on the side….I am sure I just said this…but….Wednesday again….

Early Bird Christmas Crafting hosted by the gorgeous Judith…..I have made these book marks to add to my little Christmas stock pile….this was a fantastic idea Judith, thanks so much….

Now for the Early Bird challenge….two fat eights of fabric plus some embellishments…and I think a little stitchery as well…I have a bit of an idea????…more later…

I have joined Judith’s Early Bird Christmas Crafting…here is my Journal to record my progress…..I have tried raw edge appliqué on some leftover stitcheries from Christmas (Among the Gum Trees) a bit more practice, but I think I could get to like this…..and bit of cross hatching, one of my new covered buttons.. and I have a cover...……and if you haven’t already joined up for this new venture, why not pop over and have a look at Judith’s blog..

Recipe for “Caramel Date Walnut Slice”

1.5  cups Plain Flour – 125g melted butter – 1 cup brown sugar firmly packed – 1 egg lightly beaten – 1/2 teaspoon bi-carb soda – 1/2 cup cream – 1/2 cup chopped dates – 1 cup walnut pieces

Sift flour stir in melted butter, stir in sugar, press half the mixture into a greased 20cm x 30cm pan, bake in a moderate oven for approx 12 mins…cool..combine remaining mixture with the sifted bi-carb, egg, cream, dates and nuts – mix well pour over base, bake for a further 25mins or until just firm…sour cream can also be used instead of the cream…….enjoy……
