This is another of my 'Cottage On The Hill' Nundle retreat quilts......http://kerryswainscottage.blogspot.com/ these are such fantastic retreats and then to come home with a finished top, which I did do on that occasions, is very satisfying.
Fantastic pattern, purchased this pattern from Cottage on the Hill, just one template, two pieces to each hexagon, so simple, great way to use scraps, I think I have used a different piece of fabric in each of the hexagons in this quilt.
Shaggy quilts and old buttons, I just love it the combination......the one with buttons is made from cotton and the other one is made of flannel fabrics
Our club have done this little swap twice....paper bag swap...we have a group of people and we all do a row, which will be the first row of our quilt, this is put into a bag with a list if instructions of what you would like or not like in your quilt, you can even supply the fabric if you want, if not you can just have the fabrics that person would like to use .....then each month someone else takes your bag home and does a row, no one sees what the others are doing, and this goes on until all people who are in the swap (generally around 8-10 people) have made a row to go with your original row, this all goes into the bag.....at the end of the swap you get your bag back with these lovely completed rows and then all you need to do is turn these rows into a quilt.......it is a fantastic fun way of doing a quilt.........the dark one was our first swap done about 5 years ago and the light one was done in 2005 (I think)
Mumms Scrappy Quilt.....http://kerryswainscottage.blogspot.com/ design....we had a quilting day last year and this was our project. What we did was to bring in all our scraps and over a couple of Thursday nights we met, with our scraps and swapped and cut and had everything read to sew on the day....... basically everyone just rummaged through every ones bit and pieces took what ever they needed, each person supplied their own background fabric, and this was my end result. It was a fantastic way to use up scraps as well as share some of those bits and pieces with some quilting mates.
Finally completed this last year, redwork, really enjoyed doing this, I have this hanging in my quilting room....maybe one day I will have a grand daughter I can give it to...
Made for my nephew Travis......just loves the West Tigers, and he also loved this when I gave it to him and I even got a kiss, (Travie doesn't give too many of those away)
I made this a couple of years ago at Ridgecrest for my great nephew Rory, who is now two. Stitchery in the middle (not very clear) and just flannel squares, purchased from Janome in Dubbo.
21st present for a very special young lady Skye (Skiddles)....fabric as released as a fundraiser for cancer research (can't remember the name of the range)...Skye's Dad was diagnosed with cancer several years ago...is doing really well now, but I thought the choice of fabrics was right...
This was q kit that I purchased from Kerry Swain - Cottage on the Hill, and it was quilted by Betty from Madly Quilting and I made it for my very dear friend Dale for her 60th Birthday last year.
I had earlier made a baby bag for Charlotte Rose, I have just completed this quilt for her as well, this quilt has no name, made with Building Blocks fabric made for Moda, few teddy bear stitcheries also added.
