Why do we hoard….time to do a de-clutter………..I find it hard to throw things out, do you….most of these bags came from just inside this chest…there were clothes that went back 20 years…why…I have not worn them, never ever will….so why did I hang onto them…

now it’s ‘D’ day!!!!!!!!….

De-clutter day…de-hoarding day….dump it day….ditch it day…..

So, do you have a problem as well!!!!!

Happy ‘D’ day…

Peg

  2. That's a very good question Peg. It's terrible how quickly clutter accumulates. I am having a BIG de clutter when we move back into our bedroom this week. No rubbish going back in the cupboard or under the bed!

  3. I am a terrible hoarder. Good luck with your decluttering.

  4. I'm not a hoarder...well not too much of a hoarder anyway. It does feel good to have a declutter every so often though.

  5. Oh Peg I'm so glad someone else has the same problem as I do... I go to de-clutter and then I think maybe this might fit soon or I'll keep it a bit longer in case I need it, I have a full chest of drawers chockers of clothes that if "I haven't worn it in 12 mths its going to the op shop" maybe today and not in 6 months it should go.... thanks so much for the inspiration.
ps I don't consider myself a hoarder and I actually hate clutter!!

  6. Stuff just seems to accumulate doesn't it? But I reckon most of it hides, so we can't see it. I was shocked recently at how many pairs of shoes I own, I only thought it was maybe ten, way way wrong, lol. Best of luck with sending your excess stuff on its way to somewhere else :)

  7. Oh Yes I soooo have a bad habit of hoarding stuff that's why these holidays I've been de-cluttering and chucking stuff away or moving them on to someone else who will use them LOL, I think we're all hoarders to some degree :) Barb.

  13. Well done, starting is the hardest part, I know, I keep trying to but always something more fun & less emotional to do instead. I think I would have to declare National Declutter Month at my house. Oh well maybe over the Christmas break hahahahahahaha! xxx

  14. If only I had your problem Peg. I am the opposit. The worst chucker outerer. I often regret it and it has been a subject of an odd argument. But, in saying that I can see how I could change my way now I am on the patchwork road, haha. Good luck! Sharyn:)

  15. Everything eventually comes back in Peg - they are probably really trendy or retro...I rarely throw away things because "I might need it" one day, only one day never comes...

  16. Plenty of vintage goods here. Haha
Tiny steps taken, with some repurposing happening too. There may be empty shelves or boxes one day?
Well done on clearing one space.

  23. Yes, but not with everyday things. My hording problem is strictly related to quilting, knitting, spinning, reading and all my "someday I may want to do this" stash. The punchneedle kits that have been sitting for 10 years or more waiting for me to try it. The needlepoint projects that are half finished and more than 20 years old. You get the idea!

  25. You did a great job of decluttering! That is something I need to do as well. I try and declutter once in the fall and once in the spring.
