There are occasions when we have to override gut feeling, but when it comes to patchwork I definitely try to follow it. Sometimes hindsight shows that your gut feeling was right.
Oh most definitely. NO ONE else can know what YOU like as perfectly as YOU. Of course patterns are there as guides and should be considered but measurements are different from design. Go with the gut!!! :)
I think the gut feeling isn't a bad thing to follow or at the lest to keep in the back of your mind. Love your nine patch top it is coming together beautifully!
