So excited….

The slices are made, and so is the casserole and  dip, the lollies, chips, coffees are packed…the refreshments are ready all nice and chilled….lot and lots of projects are packed, the bedding is ready, a few changes of clothes, (extra jimmy jammers and as we are having a Pj day on Saturday, that's it, we are staying in our pyjamas all day…it is Retreat time again……..we are heading out To Kirk Retreat, hosted by our very dear friend Carol…….off to work this morning, but come 1pm …race home, shower ,pick up all the gear, and Dale, and then off we go…and home on Sunday…

OPAM……now we may be a little late this month with the blog hopping….I am off on retreat and my gorgeous partner in crime Kris, is on holiday, (she is doing it so hard laying on the beach for two weeks)…..but we will get there so please keep an eye on my blog as I will let you know who our winners are for July next week…….hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and I will have lots of show and tell on my return….

Please meet Dee Dee….a Melly and Me pattern…..this is what I made for my FIS partner Jen, in our recent Softie Swap..…..this was my first attempt at a softie….had a bit of a problem with the tail, but I think it turned out OK…..I must admit I did have fun making this girl once I knew what I was doing……LOL….

Tuesday Treasure and ………

Tuesday Treasure……Back in the olden day…(LOL)….when I was a gal…Prize Giving Day at School was an important event and if you were lucky enough to receive a prize that was even bigger…this was my very first award at School….1967 I came first in 4B…..and received the Commonwealth Bank Prize…..and this was the book that I selected……..LOL……..

I have just finished this little stitchery which was a freebie from the lovely Jenny (thanks a lot Jen)…..I have a bit of an idea swimming around in my head……..so I am going to combine it with these fabrics…Wildflower Serenade 11 by Moda to make……??????…more on that one later…..

What a weekend……lots achieved, especially on the book work side of things for my customers…..  and look what else I did….wahoo….its together….My Angles Story flimsy is finished and I am just so very pleased …..I have set a goal and now I have achieved it, such a good feeling…….enjoy your day….

My Tilda Bunny….

 

How cute is he!……..he brings a smile to my face every time I look at him……..this is my Tilda Bunny…FIS, the online stitching group that I am a member of have several swaps each year…..our most current swap was a ‘softie’…..and this little fellow was made for me by the very talented Teresa…I just love him, thanks so much Teresa…I need to come up with a name for my new little mate…..any suggestions?

Blocks 3 and 4 of the Angel Story….so al I need to do now is join the four large blocks…..and then one more border and the top is completed…..Here it is Friday again….not sure where this week has gone?….We all wake up and it is Monday and then all of a sudden we are at the weekend again!!!!!!!…..have a fab day…

Another set done..

Butterfly Garden…..another set of completed mini blocks….9 mini blocks make up one large block….now I need to prepare another set…..this is where I might fall in a heap (again) with this quilt….The stitching is the easy bit, getting to the sewing machine is not as simple….(I need more time!!!!!!)….LOL…

More Angels Story……this is the number 2 of the larger block….I hope to be able to put the 4  large blocks together over the weekend…..still have lots of book work to do for my clients but if I plan this well I am sure I can make it happen….

My Tuesday Treasures……I am sure lots of you would have something like this displayed in your home….these are the pre-school Christmas gifts that my baby boys made for their mummy when they were in their first year at pre-school………tea pot stands……they are priceless to me…..

Life is beautiful……..

 

   

Making some progress on my Life Is Beautiful blocks……I am doing this as a BOM and the fabric used is  Rural Jardin by French General for Moda …each month I receive a couple of fat quartes, these are the fabrics I have received so far…….

Productive day…..

Club Quilt today…….and I was a woman on a mission…Angel Story Blocks……must be joined…..and I did make up the four large blocks….so I did achieve my goals for today..… This is then slice I took along  which I have called Mango and Walnut slice…

1 butter cake mix, 140g butter melted, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/4 cup of walnut crumbs….mix all together and press down into a slice tin and cook for 15 min in a moderate over….

In a bowl mix 300g sour cream, 1 tablespoon of castor sugar, 2 eggs and I large tin of mangoes that have been drained really well and then roughly sliced….once the base has cooked for the 15 mins, remove from oven, with a metal spoon push down the cake mixture which has started to rise, pour over sour cream mixture, sprinkle the slice with a mixture of cinnamon and castor sugar cook for a further 25 mins or until firm…..

  .

 

This is one of the four large blocks that have been completed….I have missed two small hearts which need to be sewn to the cream spot in this last block…

Kindness…and my boy…

Kindness…..Bloggers never cease to amaze me….I have the privilege of being OPAM co-host with the lovely Kris….The other day I received a parcel in the post from Kris….with these gorgeous goodies and a note that said…’Just a little something to brighten your day during the end of financial year slog’…and yes it did brighten my day….and touched my heart…..you are a treasure Kris….mwah….

 

Now this is my boy “Ollie”…..he is one very spoilt spoodle….he loves sleeping in Dads chair and this is his favourite sleeping position….

and here he is again…just before he has his bath….it takes two of us about 15 minutes to dry him and that is using the hair dryer, his hair is very thick and curly……….one would also call him a high maintenance dog…..LOL…..

This is the last of my completed blocks for my version of Angel Story…..thank you so much for all the lovely encouraging emails and comments I have received …It has truly inspired me know to finish this quilt….
