Yep another little stitchery……I really think I may have a bit of an obsession with stitcheries….but I do find sitting down at night for just that half an hour is so relaxing…I have a very stressful job and I find just picking up that needle doing a few stitches seems to unwind me…what does picking up the needle do for you?
Remember your “me'” time…

ReplyDeleteI agree with you, being able to sit down with your family or just yourself for a few stolen moments can be very refreshing and relaxing. What better way to do it than to have a stitchery at hand? This one is really pretty.
ReplyDeleteSpending time doing a little bit of sewing reminds me of who I am, which gets a bit lost in the chaos of working and four kids. Love your stitcheries..they look great!
ReplyDeletePicking up the needle for me means zoning out or listening to inspiring CD's. It is my time to think on the weightier issues of life etc.

Wow! You are the stitchiest Peg! Love the stitchery. I feel the same way about stitching. It is very relaxing and my destressor. Makes me want to rush out and start stitching! (I don't think I stitch enough actually. Must do more!)

ReplyDeletePeg that is a DARLING stitchery! I can't wait to see what it becomes! I too unwind with hand stitching. I got away from it somewhat when hubby bought me an embroidery machine, but it's just not the same. Machine embroidery is faster, for sure, but it lacks heart. And it's not at all stress-free. Nor is it portable!
ReplyDeleteWe go visit a friend every Monday evening, and I always take my latest project. It's so nice to sit and stitch and visit and drink tea!
That's a really cute stitchery, Peg!! I don't make time every day to do stitching... but I know when I do make time... I'm more relaxed and appreciate taking that 30 minutes out for 'me' time. I think it's super important!

I too love sitting at night and stitching but unlike you, I never sit for just 1/2 hour. It's usually ALL night.

ReplyDeleteI find sitting down and piecing just for a few minutes is absolutely therapeutic for me. Just sitting with fabric, needle and thread brings some equilibrium to the worst days!
Im trying to do a little stitching each night, but it doesn't seem to happen. Yours looks great though. Maybe I will get organised soon (tomorrow)
