NPNT

This is my first completed block....of NPNT....only 62 to go.....I have decided I will complete each block as I go, there is quite a bit of work in putting them together, and it is even better if you read the instructions....is there any one else out there who skims through patterns???
Another beautiful day today...I am so excited my number two son is coming home for a visit...he arrives tonight.......

  2. Wow-wee Peg, nice job on the NPNT block. I read instructions several times over...quickest look first, then a quicker look and then a quick look and then it slows down from there LOL :^)

  3. Hey Peg! Hmmm, have to confess I'm an instruction skimmer - and then have to go back later when I can't work something out!! The funniest part is that I start the instructions for all of my patterns by saying "Read all instructions carefully before beginning ..." ! Tee! Hee! Hee! You'd think I'd follow my own advice!! Your blocks are coming up beautifully! I love the fabrics you're using for your borders - funky and fun! Will look forward to seeing 62 more! :0) Bear Hugs! KRIS (Tag Along Teddies)

  4. Peg, that looks so fantastic!! I love it!!
I tend to skim instructions when I first read through but have learned (the hard way) to pay attention before I start with cutting or anything along those lines. :-)

  5. That is a lovely block, Peg. I'm like you...a skimmer. Mind you, it isn't restricted just to quilting patterns...I do it with all instructions. Sometimes with interesting results! lol

  10. I skim thru patterns all the time. I hate reading patterns. If there is a picture I try to figure it out from the pic.

  11. I always skim patterns, often resulting in errors. Especially when one pattern has pieces require cutting on the line AND some require a seam allowance in addition to the line.... lol this has had me kicking myself alot!
Your stitching is looking beautiful. love the colours in both threads and fabrics.

  14. Your stitchery is stunning, and the quilt is going to be beautiful. Yes I skim through patterns and then when when I can't figure it out, it's time to read it better.

  15. Thanks for your comment on my post in NPNT site. Your block looks great and I am glad to see how you are going ahead and finishing each block. I had considered doing that, but have not taken the time to read through the directions yet. I don't quite understand how it is going to work.

I have subscribed to your site as I so enjoyed looking at all your projects in past posts.

    Take care!

  17. The blocks look wonderful, 62 more to go... OMG!?

As I almost always have to work with English patterns I have to read through them first. Getting better in understanding all the quilting and stitching jargon I skim through them more and more...

  21. Wow, you picked gorgeous fabrics and floss colors.

I'm a hopeless skimmer. Usually I find the correct directions after I goof something up.
