Early Bird Heart Challenge…

 

 

The lovely Judith - Early Bird Challenge……… her challenge for this month was to make something using hearts….so this is one of my items…..a simple little dilly bag with a heart stitchery….

Club Quilt today…….lots of show and tell….I have taken plenty of photos of what the girls have been making……todays slice was “Coffee Caramel Chocolate Slice”…

1 vanilla cake mix, 1 cup of coconut, 140g melted butter, mix together and press into a slice tin, cook in a moderate oven for 15 mins…In a saucepan mix 2 tablespoons of golden syrup, 30g butter, 2 teaspoons of coffee which has been blended with 2 teaspoons boiling water and 1 tin of condensed milt,  stir over heat for 5 minutes….remove the base from oven and spread with caramel mixture return to the oven for 15 – 20 mins….take out cool, over boiling water melt 1 large Cadbury chocolate…spread over slice….yummy…….

It’s Saturday and no book work today, the music is on and turned up loud….…. we did a few domestics …bathed the boys (dogs) and then into the sewing room…this is a bit of a look of what I have been working ……

Here it is……my finished flimsy that I made when we were in Nundle last weekend at Cottage On The Hill…….Fabric…Moda…3 Sisters…Park Avenue…..now all I have to do is get it quilted…..!!!!

Paper bag swap..lots of fun…

 

   

Our on line stitching group F.I.S. are having another swap…this time a Paper Bag Swap….one of my partners is Dawnie and she has sent to me the above goodies and I am to make something special from this gorgeous fabric, trim, buttons and how cute is the stitchery, and then return it to her…..(the Turkish Delight is no longer….…..yummo, and I also get to keep the gorgeous decorated bag…I was very impressed with that..)…now what should I make..??????

 

   

 

And my bits and pieces were sent off to Bec…..and I know what ever Bec makes for me will be amazing….(the bottom photo I borrowed from your blog Bec, hope thats OK)

And this is “Bunt”……..Kerry’s new baby….he lost his mum so Kerry has taken up the job….…Bunt is just just like a puppy and so affectionate…….how cute is he…

Tuesday Treasure and more on Nundle

 

 

 Tuesday Treasure……it is still in three pieces, but one day it will be re-assembled……this singer belonged to my DH’s grandmother…. it was living in a garden shed at his parents home…it had nails hammered into the top and it was in very bad shape……We were not sure if we could restore it at all, even Mr. W thought it was only good for the tip……but Mr. W. took it home and with lots of elbow grease and tender loving care he was able to bring it all back to life for me…..so this is another of our family treasures……..Clare will have a list on her blog of other treasures…..so pop over and have a look…

  

This is a bit of a look at what I was working on at Nundle…..

More Nundle shots…here we have Dale and our very special friend Norm who now lives with her daughter in Sydney..and that’s me at the back…..it was so nice to catch up with Norm again…..

the three wild ones in the back are Deb from Sydney (Norms daughter, in the middle) and Leanne (right) and Nicole (left) also from Gunnedah….Kath at the front and Norm at the back are enjoying Kerry’s lovely lunch.

Back to work today…….oh dear, is all I can say…..

You're SEW SPECIAL!

I’mmmmmmmmmmm back…..

 

We arrived in Nundle at lunch time on Friday…..This is the view from our back verandah….

After going to Kerry’s it was time for a coffee…..very hard work, this selecting of fabrics…LOL…..this is Kath one of my room mates…she made the most amazing quilt for her DH…..

The Narromine girls….Dale, Peg (that's me in the middle) Kath and Gay at the back……I think Gay was in the middle of saying something when Nic snapped this photo….Dale is in the middle of creating a most amazing quilt for one of her grandsons, Gay made a stunning black and white quilt with a red chenille border…

And here we have Kerry…..after serving us one of her delicious lunches…and the lovely Belinda and Cathy from Gunnedah….this is the third year we have sewn with the girls, and it is like we have known them for ever…….gorgeous girls….

Back from Nundle…..we had the best time….once again Kerry inspired and encouraged us all weekend…..lots of fantastic projects made and of course even more purchases made to create in the future…..we have booked again for next year…..can’t wait….

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend….cause we sure did…..

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out.  It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being.  We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.

Nundle here we come…

 

 

I have treated myself to another IPod….I had one which I took to work each Monday and then bought it home on Fridays for weekend use….so now I have my old faithful to leave at work….and this new little Nano for home use……so thought I should make a little case for it….and I quite often take my docking station with me if I go away so I needed a cover for it’s remote….and while I was at it, I make a little bag for my sewing machine needles and spare rotary cutter blades…

I am on holidays (well for 5 days anyway)….…as tomorrow we are heading off on our annual Retreat to Nundle…to visit our dear friend Kerry from Cottage on the Hill….4 days at Nundle it is going to be so good…., just had an email from Kerry to say it is raining and it is going to turn cold, sounds like perfect sewing weather….so I will be back on Monday with lots of show and tell…
