Tuesday Treasure and B.G.

 

Tuesday Treasures….this is a true lost treasure…We have this cupboard were we keep all our recipe books, you know those ones you never clean out…. ….and  last year  I decided I needed to clean it out…and tucked down on one of the sides was this little folded up item and when I opened it, this is what I found….Made by my eldest son, age 4, what we think has happened was Luke make this at pre-school, bought it home and he and his Dad decided to hide it until Christmas time to give it to me….but….they both forgot about it and it did not surface until last year…..so this was my lost treasure…pop over and visit Clare to see what other treasures are being shown today.

These are my make up brushes, and yes they lived in an empty fish oil container, but not any more I made this little make-up brush roll on the weekend…A much nicer home for them…LOL…

 I have joined in on the FRIENDS swap hosted by Khris,  this is going to be so much fun, thanks a lot Khris…. my partner is Judy and I can see Judy and I becoming great mates…..Judy has just started to blog……so please could you take a moment just to pop over and say Hi…..I am sure Judy would love to hear from you…

Another good day…..

  

Club Quilt today and it was so nice to catch up with the girls and see all the lovely projects they have been working on.……I spent the day getting lots of blocks ready to stitch…..I have 5 blocks to stitch for Gardeners Journal so they are all traced and ready to go….. Tail Feathers this is one of the smaller blocks that I have completed….and I have prepped another 8 smaller blocks ready to stitch…

Today I took along another version of a “Caramel Date Walnut Slice”….is was to have macadamia nuts not dates  and walnuts but I had these in the cupboard so I substituted..

1 Vanilla cake mix, 1 cup of coconut, 125gms melted butter, mix together and press into a slice tin, cook for 15 minutes……in a saucepan mix 1 can condensed milk, 1 tablespoon golden syrup, 1 tablespoon butter, stir over heat until just thickened…..make up 1 cup of chopped walnuts and chopped dates, about half of each or what ever you have….when base has cooked, remove from oven, sprinkle evenly with the walnuts and dates pour over the caramel  mixture, return to oven for 20 mins, I think mine was a little over done so I would check after 15 mins…..

The original recipe asked for 1 cup of chopped macadamia nuts and this was to be stirred thru the caramel before pouring over the base…

Lucky me….gorgeous gifts in the post….I have had a little swap with the lovely Sandy (No Blog)….Sandy emailed me one day I think it might have been about some thread that I was using, we chatted and chatted a bit more and Sandy suggested we have a swap….so we did…and these are all the amazing goodies I received from Sandy….just love all my treats Sandy they now all have a place to live in our home….hugs to you Sandy…xx

I had to do that nasty thing ‘clean the house’ this morning, but DH also helped so it didn’t take too long then off to the sewing room, bit of a clean up in there and I then spent a couple of hours at my machine….but then it was time to stop and do the ironing and make a slice for Club Quilt tomorrow…..hope you have all had a wonderful day…

Lots of progress has been made on the stitcheries for G.J…..now I need to spend a bit of time finishing the blocks….as I have said before the stitching bit is the easy part…… maybe this weekend I will try and complete another block…

A creative mess is better than tidy idleness

B.G. and T.F. , G.J., L.I.B., ……

Even though I have started T.F……..I am still going to try and keep on track with  Butterfly Garden….this is the first of my completed blocks (made of 9 small blocks) there are 9 large blocks in the quilt, three large blocks are now completed.

I was thinking that I could have designated  stitching nights, to try and not loose the plot with these  projects  that I have on the go…….you know T.F. on Monday, B.G. on Tuesday, G.J. on Wednesday, Life Is Beautiful on Thursday….and so on and so on…..LOL…sounds good, wonder if I could do it…

Willpower!!!…..where stitching is concerned I have none…that’s it… a new project…..”Tail Feathers”….Cinderberry Stitches…Natalie Lymer…(just love her work)…..this has been calling me for quite a while…I was trying to be strong but it was to the point where it was haunting me….so what do I do….start it of course…my choice of fabric ..Moda, Dandelion Girl….

These are my Tuesday Treasures…..what can you say ‘boys will be boys’……..

My twins made these works or art wayback when they were in year 7..…..not sure if these were the items that should have been made on that day in pottery class, I think this may have been when you ‘had to do art"’….LOL…… but this is what the boys made…..when they bought them home  I just shook my head……. but they are my treasures…..

A good weekend….

    

 

 

It is Sunday afternoon……and I achieved so much over the weekend….worked yesterday morning and this morning, finished another BAS for one of my clients…I am now up-to-date….but I did find some time to get to my sewing room….lots of little projects done, I  just need to add the finishing touches to them all….

And this is our Tarj…..he was helping his Mum do the paperwork….LOL……

A Big Day……it is number 1,000 for me..

   

This is another little project that I did on our recent retreat at Carols…….A mini quilt…I used the pounce pad on the borders…..a bit more practice I think, but I am getting there….

Now….

I think I may have a bit of a problem!!!!!… (well one of  many I guess)…..

Today is a bit of a celebration day…..this post is my 1,000th post……yep, that's it, 1,000 posts……that’s why I think I may have a problem….LOL….……do I have a life, yes I do…..do I get out, yes I do……do I work, yes I do, am I stuck to my computer, no I’m not……I can do a post in a couple of minutes I am getting very good at this posting thing….
